Peñíscola Castle & Beach
Game of Thrones fans will recognise Peñíscola. The walled old town sits on a rocky promontory above the sea, crowned by a castle once home to a pope. Pair the history with a relaxed afternoon on the beach.
Cala Granadella
Regularly voted one of Spain’s most beautiful coves, Cala Granadella near Jávea is a crescent of clear water framed by pine cliffs. Ideal for snorkelling and a slow Mediterranean lunch.
Coves de Sant Josep
Europe’s longest navigable underground river runs through these caves near Vall d’Uixó. A boat tour through the illuminated chambers is a memorable, weather-proof option.
Requena & Pago de Tharsys Winery
Wine lovers should head inland to Requena. A guided walk through the organic Pago de Tharsys estate ends with a tasting of cava and wines paired with local tapas.
